Thad really is an inspiration to us all. His bright smile brings out kindness in everyone he comesRead More across, and the impact of The Big Give and other volunteer efforts is amazing. Bonney Lake truly is home to one of the biggest hearts around.

I will whole heartedly support Nancy Dumas, every time I sit in gridlock traffic by Winco (our MayorRead More says there is no problem there?),when I look at the Apocolypse hillside stripped by Corliss I think that it's time for a change of attitude towards our city. Lived here a long time but it's really starting to be nerve wracking.

It's good to have choices!

Crystal - it sounds like the Kings are not your favorite team. Just a hunch :)
Brent Champaco (Editor) May 16, 2013 at 02:15 pm
Good stuff Dan. I'm good with whatever is the quickest way to get a team.
Crystal Young May 16, 2013 at 01:17 pm
The Kings need to stay where they are..Seattle need to recruit a new team all together from theRead More sporting industry throughout the country/world, whatever...Leave the Kings where they are...Not a great choice for Seattle anyway...What a waste of money an time the Kings would be ...Open recruitment..Get a fresh start... The Kings are not my favorite team.

I charge $35-$40 for the average lawn, $15-$20 more for the larger lawns, includes mowing,Read More weed-eating, and hauling away all lawn debris.

Maybe things have changed recently but I was shocked when we looked up lawn services about 7 yearsRead More ago. Before we moved up to Washington State we had our lawn mowed by a service where we lived. It was about the same size and it cost us $50 a month to be mowed 2 times a month and it included clean up and weed pulling of what ever weeds might have grown from the last 2 weeks. When we had someone come out and give us an estimate is was $125 a month for 2 times a month and if I recall it was only mowing and weed pulling as well. There was not spraying or seeding. It will be interested to see what people are paying now. Thanks for this article, look forward to some of the posts.

BAC limits (the point at which you are too impaired to safely drive) should be a medical decision,Read More not a political one.

Sounds revenue driven if you ask me, can't see any other benefit.
Jeff Hoerth May 16, 2013 at 09:56 am
bigyaz, that's not my argument. My argument is that the proposed lower limit overreaches when theRead More real problem is with people who choose to drive that are in the double digit BAC range. We can't afford services we think are necessary already without adding more legislation that prompts calls for more police. And the thought of checkpoints on top of drones and "Patriot" Act rights removal has Orwell saying I told you so. Take a look at the Seattle Times forum and you'll see many other points of view sharing that same sentiment. By the way, the article there said a 160 pound man drinking two beers could be at .05. It also noted that law enforcement already has the right to charge DUI at levels below .08 if alcohol is deemed to have contributed to driving problems.

Lots of talk about teaching safe swim but nothing on a hiring a life guard. I drove by the other dayRead More and saw that they had made some really pretty improvements to the lawn area by Allan Yorke park. I thought I saw a sign that said something about spending almost 1 million dollars on the improvements? Why not spend 1/2 of that money and spend the other half of it on life guards for the next 10 years if not more. Doesn't matter how pretty it is, if all anyone can think of is that their loved one died at that lake.
