RE: Pending Shutdown
of Patch

You are all going to be missed. Hopefully, it will only be
for a short time, and AOL will come to their sense and decide that YES, this is
a great medium and one that we need to keep open for a long time. We certainly
hope that they do. Patch has certainly opened up a new venue for many of us to
talk to each other about the issues that concern us and affect our daily living.
We’ll grant that some may abuse the medium, but hey, that’s democracy in action
and an avenue that we hate to see disappear so soon after its inception. We’re
sure if it were up to those of us that appreciated your action posts telling us
about accidents, breaking news, or use Patch to blog, post comments, check the
calendar for local events, or just read what’s going on in the local community,
we’d not support the shut down and would do whatever we could to insure that
you stay in business. Unfortunately it’s not up to us so all we can do is wish
you all well and hope that we see you back online sometime in the very near
future. Like we said in the beginning – YOU WILL BE MISSED ;( Thanks for all
you’ve done for our communities.
