Buyers Find Balance Between Northwest Outdoor Lifestyle, Urban Amenities

Buzzing with hikers, birders and wildlife, Tehaleh, nestled in the lush forest between Mt. Rainier and Tacoma, is giving outdoor enthusiasts a unique place to call home.

“Visitors have been very excited about the six parks, the miles of trails, and the open spaces,” said Scott Jones, Vice President and General Manager for Newland Communities. “No other community in the area provides this level of integration with the great outdoors.”

Home tours will be offered this weekend, where visitors can tour Tehaleh’s ten model homes and view six move-in ready homes, then explore the community’s parks and 7.5 miles of trails. Visitors can also enjoy a cup of coffee at The Post, the community’s warm welcome center featuring a Caffé D’arte coffee shop and an outdoor warming hut for hikers. Tehaleh is located just south of Bonney Lake.

“Seeing deer, birds and other wildlife on a regular basis is part of this lifestyle,” said Jones. “This is one of those unique places where you wake up with Mt. Rainier right in your back yard and can walk to a trail to start hiking.”

Visitors are exploring the old growth forests and alpine flower meadows along Tehaleh’s trails. All of the open acreage combined with the wooded areas make Tehaleh a bird watcher’s paradise.

What makes these coordinated outdoor spaces possible is Tehaleh’s master-plan, which ensures neighborhoods are planned holistically, connected by the coordinated park and trail system.

Tehaleh is designed by Newland Communities, a national expert in creating communities for the way people live today.

“The coordinated master-plan gives it a consistent quality and community feel that’s not found in many other places,” said Jones. “Everything is designed to bring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest to your doorstep while maximizing convenience.”

The community brings together a mix of local and national builders, including Lennar, Quadrant Homes, Richmond American Homes and Trilogy at Tehaleh.

“Home shoppers love getting to see new homes built by four respected builders in one place,” said Jones. “The home plans offered are a perfect match for the beautiful landscape they surround.”

One of Tehaleh’s unique neighborhoods is Trilogy at Tehaleh, the active adult community for ages 55+. Built by Shea Homes, it will feature its own private clubhouse.

Tehaleh includes amenities for all ages, including a skate park and graffiti wall at The Edge, Tehaleh’s newest park.

The community is designed to provide easy access to the culture and convenience of Seattle and Tacoma. West of Tehaleh, shoppers can find the South Hill Mall, as well as the local farmers market. Events and fine dining are never hard to come by in downtown Tacoma, while day-to-day shopping needs can be fulfilled in Bonney Lake.

“I think a lot of people will be surprised to see just how close Tehaleh is to everything,” said Jones.

Tehaleh also plans to include mixed use and retail space in the Town Center, as well as a fire station, additional civic buildings, neighborhood retail shops and office space.

Families moving into Tehaleh today can already enjoy the flexibility of having their children attend Sumner School District’s on-site Donald Eismann Elementary School. For the older kids, Mountain View Middle School and Bonney Lake High School are located just a few miles north.

While the nearby amenities are great, it’s the endless outdoor activities that really set Tehaleh apart. Thanks to the surrounding woods, the nearby cities and the stellar architecture, Tehaleh is a breath of fresh air. With the perfect balance of nature and new home community living, it really is one-of-a-kind.

Tehaleh is owned in a joint venture between two strong companies; North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of Sekisui House Ltd., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and American Newland Communities, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of Tehaleh. Collectively, the NASH-Newland partnership owns or manages more than 30 communities across the country.
