Community Corner

Home Buyers Bonded By Community, Nature at Tehaleh

Every morning when Dale Sain leaves his house, he can’t make it to his mailbox without stopping to chat with a friend. Dale and his wife, Charlene, can’t believe how beautiful their surroundings are, enjoying coffee on their deck while marveling at stunning views of Mt. Rainier. Dale and Charlene have found the perfect balance between a sense of community and a sense of adventure at Tehaleh.

“Tehaleh has everything we could want,” said Charlene. “Where else do you get trails and parks literally out your back door, without feeling isolated from your friends?”

Model home tours will be offered this weekend at Tehaleh, a community integrated with trails, parks and open space. Each of the community’s four builders offers a wide selection of floor plans, along with seven move-in-ready homes currently built or almost finished.

“We see residents connecting over lunch at The Post, or saying hello to one another out on their evening walks,” said Scott Jones, Vice President and General Manager for Newland Communities. “With a community like this, everything’s an easy reach—it’s designed to give you more time to enjoy your family, your friends, your neighbors.”

Tehaleh residents share their fondness for family and friendships with neighborhoods carefully designed to maximize connection. Family get-togethers are effortless to plan, since families can picnic just down the street from their house at one of the community’s six parks. While the kids run and play, adults can chat and enjoy sitting in areas surrounded by wooded landscape teeming with wildlife.

Trails join one neighborhood to another, making natural connection points for families, friends and neighbors.

“I love taking evening walks with our dog Cooper,” says Charlene. “We usually end up at The Post, where he gets a treat and a bowl of cold water and I can have a delicious cup of coffee. Everything is an easy stroll away.”

Special events like barbeques and brewery nights also give neighbors the chance to catch up.

Tehaleh welcomes all members of the family, from the youngest to the oldest—kids and teens enjoy the playgrounds and skate park, while buyers ages 55 and up enjoy Trilogy at Tehaleh, a special, active adult neighborhood with plans to include its own private club house in the works.

Children don’t have to travel far from their homes to get to school, with Donald Eismann Elementary in the center of the community.

Tehaleh offers homes built by Trilogy at Tehaleh, Quadrant Homes, Richmond American Homes and Lennar. A variety of floor plans are available from each builder.

Walking through the community’s seven-plus miles of trails, residents are delighted to hear warblers, sparrows, finches and other local bird species.

“It feels like we’re on vacation 24/7, where we get to live our getaway, but we’re actually right down the street from our friends,” said Charlene. “We’re 10 minutes away from everything, where else can you find that?”

Tehaleh is owned in a joint venture between two strong companies; North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of Sekisui House Ltd., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and American Newland Communities, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of Tehaleh. Collectively, the NASH-Newland partnership owns or manages more than 30 communities across the country.

Those who are ready to move into their new home now can easily make it happen with one of the many move-in-ready homes at Tehaleh, available in a variety of sizes and prices.

“I convinced my husband to come tour Tehaleh, we weren’t even to the bottom of the hill before he said he would live here,” says Charlene. “It didn’t take long for us to picture spending the rest of our lives at Tehaleh. You really have to see this place.”
