Tehaleh Home Within a Home Delivers Flexible Living

More and more of today’s homeowners are living with multiple generations under one roof. Whether college-age kids return or baby boomer parents retire, many want a flexible home in a perfect setting to accommodate all of their family’s life stages. At Tehaleh, modern families are finding the perfect floor plans, neighborhoods, and amenities for multi-generational living, especially with Lennar’s unique NextGen home.

NextGen, the “home within a home,” offers a complete private suite with bedroom, eat-in kitchenette and living room. The suite can be integrated into a home’s living space, or kept as a private residence. “It’s like getting two homes for the price of one,” says Bill Salvesen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Lennar.

Tehaleh is the only new home community in Pierce County to offer Lennar’s NextGen floor plan in combination with six parks, 7.5 miles of trails, and breathtaking views of Mount Rainier. As the Puget Sound’s top-selling new-home community, Tehaleh offers a premier Pacific Northwest living experience that’s perfect for extending family life beyond the walls of the home.

Tehaleh homeowner Gary Roberts is living every man’s dream. Last June, he and his wife moved into their NextGen home. Though their long-term plan is to use the private, attached suite to house their daughter when she returns from college, in the meantime, Gary uses it as his office and man-cave.

Gary spends many an afternoon relaxing in the second living room with the game turned up, enjoying easy access to his own kitchenette stocked with food and drinks. His wife, Susan, enjoys it too. She laughs, “He can go watch sports in there; it’s his own space and he enjoys it, and I have the whole rest of the house to myself!”

Tehaleh offers the ideal setting for multi-generational living, with a great coffee shop in the community and seemingly endless outdoor spaces to relax and explore.

Community tours are available this weekend, with 14 models and 10 move-in-ready homes to explore. Visitors can also enjoy The Post, Tehaleh’s community gathering and information center, featuring handcrafted Italian coffee from Caffé D’arte and sandwiches, salads and pastries from CJ’s Deli.

Gary and Susan are empty nesters, and love the versatility of their home. “I’d never seen a home designed for multi-generational living until I came to Tehaleh,” says Susan. “We saw so much future potential for us, plus we think it will have great resale value someday, if we want to move somewhere closer to where our kids settle down.”

The outdoor amenities of Tehaleh were also very appealing to the couple. “The Olympics are in one direction and Mt. Rainier is in the other - it’s very beautiful, peaceful and quiet,” says Susan. “We’re hikers at heart, and it’s nice to have miles of trails right here in our own neighborhood. We just walk out the front door, find a trail and go.”

The NextGen floor plan has been an attractive option for a variety of homebuyers.  “What we’ve designed is different than anything else you’ve seen from other builders – these are not dual master suites,” says Salvesen. “Lennar’s NextGen plan is literary a home within a home.”

Tehaleh is owned in a joint venture between two strong companies; North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of Sekisui House Ltd., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and American Newland Communities, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of Tehaleh. Collectively, the NASH-Newland partnership owns or manages more than 30 communities across the country.

For buyers looking for an outdoor lifestyle and a place to establish roots in a tight-knit, welcoming community, Tehaleh is ideal. The community has an on-site school, Donald Eismann Elementary, and is close to conveniences while still maintaining its connection to nature.  The Roberts knew the community was a worth investing in, much like their NextGen home.

“The community is a dream”, says Susan. “Plus, there are so many things you can do with the NextGen suite that are a premium in people’s lives these days. College kids moving back home, an elderly parent you want to have close, or even a man-cave! The versatility is unmatched.”
