The video is an mp4 format file and shows the vehicle traveling from left to right across the screen on the East Valley Highway.

Sumner Police are very thankful for the neighboring jurisdictions who worked to help enhance the video for better viewing.  Now, the Department hopes the media and public can help them identify the vehicle or determine a more complete description of the vehicle, which appears to be a dark small sedan or sports car.  The vehicle will have front-end damage and possible damage to the windshield.

In addition, police are hopeful  that the occupants of a witness vehicle also contact the Police Department.  This second vehicle (not visible in the attached video footage) appears to be a silver Subaru Outback that was driving southbound on the East Valley Highway just after the incident occurred.

On Saturday, October 5 at 22:53, Police received a call about a hit and run on the East Valley Highway.  Rachel Givens, age 23, had been attempting to cross the East Valley Highway in the 2700 block to the Log Cabin Tavern.  She was struck by a vehicle that continued proceeding north on the East Valley Highway.  Givens was transported to Tacoma General Hospital and passed away last week.
