Each year, many wonderful individuals and groups give of their time and talent to help others and make both small and large contributions to communities within the Sumner School District. Their contributions do not go unnoticed, be it within their organization, school, or community they serve in or by the individuals they impact along the way. We frequently come across these unsung heroes in our lives but they are often behind the scenes, or the extent of how they impact others is not always known. For many, it is their life’s work. Community Impact/Unsung Hero Awards, given during the annual Community Summit, recognizes the dedication of those who make our communities better. Nominations for this award were accepted through February 22, 2012.

Keynote Speaker: Monte Stiles Monte Stiles served his entire professional career of 28 years as a state and federal prosecutor in Idaho. One of his proudest achievements was the organization and implementation of the “Enough is Enough” anti-drug campaign, which produced community coalitions in every area of his state. Monte has been a passionate drug educator and motivational speaker for schools, businesses, churches, law enforcement agencies, and other youth and parent organizations around the United States.
