A car wash fund-raiser to benefit Bonney Lake’s Chief for a Day will take place starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Lowe’s in Bonney Lake.
The Bonney Lake Police Department is sponsoring William Knight as its chief for the day. William, 7, was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, which is a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that were present at birth.
William won’t officially be chief for a day until Aug. 16, but he will be appearing at various local events prior to that.
Another fund-raising event for him, involving flapjacks, will take place July 14 at the Applebee’s in Bonney Lake.
For more information on the project, or if you would like to organize a fund-raising event for William, contact the police department at 253-863-2218. Saturday’s event is organized by the department’s Citizen Academy and the Church of Latter Day Saints.
