Celebrate Veterans Day around Bonney Lake, Sumner

Here are some Veterans Day events happening near Bonney Lake and Sumner.

This salute to the Armed Forces is sponsored by VFW Post 2224, the City of Puyallup, American Legion Post 67,  and the Fleet Reserve Association. Musical selections will be provided by The Puyallup Valley Community Band and Tapestry Singers. Guest Speaker will be Medal of Honor Colonel Joe Jackson, USAF, Retired.

47th Veterans Day Parade in Auburn

According to the city of Auburn's website, it was designated by the Veterans Day National Committee and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a regional site for celebration of Veterans Day 2012. Auburn has hosted the Veterans Day Parade since 1965. It has grown into one of the largest Veteran’s Day parades in the United States.

Tahoma National Cemetery

The Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent will be conducting a Veteran's Day program this year.

Veterans Day Deals:

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is offering free admission to all individuals who are currently serving or have honorably served in the U.S. military on on Sunday, Nov. 11. Just bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s, or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the Zoo.

Brown Bear Car Wash is offering free “Bear Essential” tunnel washes to current or former members of the military on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.

U.S. National Park Service: All national parks, forests and monuments offer free addmission to all on Veterans Day. Go and Enjoy the scenery!
