DONATE: Hygiene Drive Going on Through May 10

The Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute will be collecting hygiene products through May 10 to help local families.

Members of the Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute are currently collecting items for their hygiene drive to support local food banks.

The goal of the drive is to collect donated hygiene items to assist the most vulnerable individuals and families in Puyallup and Sumner.

The Leadership Institute group consists of local leaders from businesses and public agencies, such as Old Cannery Furniture, Puyallup and Sumner Police Departments, Heritage Bank and Good Samaritan Hospital.

The group launched the project after the food bank staff said they are in short supply of hygiene items, such as shampoo, soap, tooth paste and toilet paper.

Those seeking public assistance receive food stamps through the Department of Social Health Services, but hygiene items cannot be purchased with the Quest EBT cards.
