East Pierce Fire and Rescue to Use Old Albertsons Building for Training This Month

Firefighters and first responders from East Pierce Fire and Rescue will be utilizing the old Albertsons building for training beginning this week through the end of June.

The Courier-Herald reports both career and volunteer firefighters are required to perform five drills at this location where a specific obstacle course has been created inside.

The building has been vacant since Alberstons closed at the end of 2012. In early May, Mayor Neil Johnson announced in his State of the City Address that Hobby Lobby would be moving into the location.Β
