Easter Egg Hunts Aplenty This Weekend

Bonney Lake and Sumner are celebrating Easter with the community this year. Here's a list of what's going on in town.

  • Where/When: 8 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at.
  • Why Go: Come celebrate spring and Easter at Allan Yorke Park by participating in the Haulin' Eggs 5K Fun Run! The weather shouldn't be too bad, and let’s face it, you could probably use the exercise before summer gets here. I'll keep my fingers crossed for sun!
  • Cost: $20. Fee includes free T-shirt! There is no charge for children 12 and under, but T-shirts are not included.

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Sunset Stadium.
  • Why Go: This is a longstanding local tradition hosted by East Pierce Fire and Rescue that brings local families together. It's a fun opportunity for the little ones to collect eggs safely -- the kids hunt in age groups, kids 1 - 12 are welcome.
  • Cost: FREE

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Allan Yorke Park.
  • Why Go: Children ages 1-11 are welcome. Bring your baskets and your camera to take a free picture with the Easter Bunny. Don't be late - once the gun goes off, it's over in a manner of minutes!
  • Cost: FREE

  • Where/When: 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Allan Yorke Park Field #4 (across street from snack shack and rest rooms)
  • Why Go: Brave the mad dash of other "big kids" and join Bonney Lake for the 3rd Adult Flashlight Egg Hunt! With over 2,000 eggs to find, you will have a chance to win prizes such as gift cards, spring gift items, soda, chips, candy and MORE! Event will take place rain or shine.
  • Cost: $5 per person.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Edgemont Park (2300 110th Ave E, Edgewood, WA 98372)
  • Why Go: The annual Edgewood Easter Egg Hunt, also sponsored by East Pierce Fire and Rescue Local 3520, is another opportunity for kids to hunt for eggs.
  • Cost: FREE
