Gary Slick was killed on August 11, 2012 while walking in Bonney Lake, WA. He was run down by a man who was driving while under the influence of drugs. This very same driver had been convicted of vehicular homicide several years earlier for killing another person while he was driving drunk. The man who killed Gary did not have auto insurance.
Gary was known for his infectious smile, great laugh and his willingness to lend a hand to anybody who needed help. He was always there for his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Gary leaves behind his wife Jurene, son Robby, daughters Beverly and Erica, soon-to-be son-in-law Dane Miller and granddaughter Sawyer Miller. He is also survived by his mother Patty Holey, father John "Jack" Slick, stepmother Penny Slick and sister Kathi Detiro.

Gary had recently signed up for a new life insurance policy but, unfortunately, it had not yet taken effect and the family is left with numerous expenses and no way to cover them. As Robby and Beverly are both enrolled in college, the need for funds is especially great. Gary would have been the first one to step up and help any other families who found themselves in a similar position. We want to do the same for his family. Please help bless Gary's family by making a monetary donation to the Gary Slick Memorial Fund. Gary was taken from us much too soon. Let's show his family how much he meant to us by making sure they are provided for in his absence.
