Five Things for the Weekend, Jan. 21

From books to building, make this a weekend to focus on your family.

It's a family-centered weekend here in Bonney Lake and there's something for every age. Invest in our kids with these easy fun events around town.

Toddler Story Time, – Jan. 21 Bring your tots to the weekly story time held at Bonney Lake Library. This program is designed for kids younger than 3. Young toddlers, those just beginning to walk, start at 10:30 a.m. with a program that includes books, action rhymes and songs. Older toddlers up to age 3 meet at 11:30 a.m. for picture books, movement games, fingerplay and songs. This event runs approximately 30 minutes.

Bingo Night, – Jan. 21 From 6-9 p.m. on Friday night, come play Bingo to support the Bonney Lake High School Panthers Marching Band.  Snacks and refreshments will be available. Bingo cards will be sold in sets of 3 for $5. Contact Nancy Morrison at 253-255-6411 for more information.

Build and Grow Clinic, Bonney Lake– Jan. 22  Bring the kids to this bi-weekly workshop at Lowe’s Home Improvement. This free event requires registration online and starts at 10 a.m. This weekend, kids can make and take a wood ball toss game.

Shoe Drive for Foster Kids, , Bonney Lake– Jan. 22 From now through the end of the month, Sleep Country USA is accepting donations of new shoes in any size, for a boy or girl, as part of their annual shoe drive. Sleep Country USA collected more than 5,000 pairs of shoes in 2010.  Sleep Country will donate your new and unused shoes to foster children in need.

," in Bonney Lake– Jan. 25 Come attend this free event for parents, caregivers, teachers and anyone else working with children. This evening event runs from 5-8 p.m. and includes a dinner and workshop to enhance mathematical learning for children ages 1 to 8. Registration is due by Jan. 20. Contact Laurie Sjolund at 253-891-4563.
