  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Kentwood Performing Arts Center.
  • Why Go: Jazz fans probably already have this event on their radar. The Brubeck Brothers Quartet’s special style of improvisation creates a melody of rhythm and culture that you won’t hear anywhere else. Never heard of them? Check out this YouTube clip of the Brubeck Brothers in action.
  • Cost: $28 for general, $26 for seniors and $20 for youths.

  • Where/When: 8 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at.
  • Why Go: Come celebrate spring and Easter at Allan Yorke Park by participating in the Haulin' Eggs 5K Fun Run! The weather shouldn't be too bad, and let’s face it, you could probably use the exercise before summer gets here. I'll keep my fingers crossed for sun!
  • Cost: $20. Fee includes free T-shirt! There is no charge for children 12 and under, but T-shirts are not included.

  • Where/When: 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8, at Northwest Trek.
  • Why Go: Come celebrate the largest member of the deer family during Moose Mania.  Learn about these majestic ungulates and catch a glimpse of one of our moose in the free-roaming area on a tram tour!
  • Cost: Tickets range between $8 and $17.

  • Why Go: Join Enumclaw Music this Friday for another free concert as part of their "First Friday" series. The concert will feature a variety of music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance as well as folk tunes. Enjoy!

  • Where/When: 7:05 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Cheney Stadium.
  • Why Go: Join the Tacoma Rainiers and Lakewood Officers’ Charity for a night of baseball and family fun to benefit the Lakewood Officers’ Charity Make A Difference Fund. A portion of all ticket proceeds from this night will go to benefit the Lakewood Officers’ Charity Make A Difference Fund.
