WHEN? August 3 at 2:30 p.m.
WHY GO? Meet and greet a live zoo animal featured from Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Get a chance to hear wild tales about the animals at the zoo. Intended for children age 6 and up. Contact the library for more info.
HOW MUCH? Free with registration. Tickets are required.
WASHINGTON MIDSUMMER RENAISSANCE FAIRE – , Bonney Lake
WHEN? First three weekends in August, starting August 6 and 7.
WHY GO? Enjoy one of the biggest theatrical events in Washington State featuring musicians, theater productions and jousting events. Dressing in period-attire is not out of the question for your fairies, pirates and knights. Extend your stay by camping on-property to further engage in the festivities.
HOW MUCH? Tickets are available for single day, or weekend passes. Adult admission starts at $16. Children under 5 are free.
LAST LEAF THEATER – , Bonney Lake
WHEN? August 9 at 11 a.m.
WHY GO? Bring the kids for some open-air theater and retelling of classic stories. Last Leaf performs Shakespear in the Park, as well as classic production variations.

SUMNER ARTS FESTIVAL – Downtown Sumner
WHEN? August 5 and 6
WHY GO? Celebrate the local arts of our community with this annual outdoor street fair. Great for families and children of all ages, the festival features youth activities that include bubble art, a bounce house, face painting and entertainment.
