World Ocean Day – Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Tacoma
WHEN? Saturday, June 4. Events run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHY GO? Share the wonder of our world’s oceans with your kids this weekend and take advantage of all the scheduled opportunities set-up at PDZA. From Shark Feeds to Toys for the Octopus and “Slurpsicles” for the walruses, the whole family will enjoy this celebration and learning more about our amazing oceans.
HOW MUCH? All activities are FREE with Zoo admission.
Kid’s Fishing Derby – Bradley Park, Puyallup
WHEN? June 6 at 7 a.m. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m.
WHY GO? A big hit with kids and adults alike - bring your fishing pole and let your kids get the hang of fishing at this annual event. Children ages 12 and under will fish and have the opportunity to win prizes in several categories. To allow all better success, the lake has been closed to adult fishing since May 16 in preparation for the derby. Contact the City of Puyallup for more information at 253-841-5457.
HOW MUCH? $3 per participant. Payable buy cash only at the event.
iCamp’s iJump Around – Enumclaw
WHEN? Registration is now open. Camp runs daily for one week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHY GO? Now that school is wrapping up for the year, it’s time to consider and plan some activities to keep the kids out of your hair, and out of trouble. Enumclaw Parks and Recreation Department is offering iCamp for children K – 5th grade (Fall 2011). The first iCamp in this weekly series is iJump Around where kids will make friends and work together daily on relays, obstacle courses and more!
HOW MUCH? $115/125 for resident/non-resident. There is also a one-time T-shirt fee of $12.
