PHOTOS: Sumner's Street of Treats

Princesses, heroes, villains and more met up on Main Street to trick-or-treat at local businesses on Halloween.

Main Street in downtown Sumner shut down Halloween afternoon so that fairies, comic book heroes, princesses and skeletons could visit shops and trick-or-treat during the annual Street of Treats event.

Gruff the Crime Dog posed with fans and the Act 1 Dancing Scarecrows rocked out to Micheal Jackson's Thriller.

The annual event was hosted by the Sumner Downtown Association, which provided trick-or-treat bags to 800 kids.

Did you attend the event? There were some awesome costumes this year! Check out our photos and add your own to our photo gallery.

Thanks to Tracy Pidge with American Allied Van Lines for contributing the great trick or treat bags for the Street of Treats, to the Sumner Public Works guys for getting the roads closed, to the Sumner Police Department for ensuring the safety of our young trick or treaters, to Act One Theatre for the amazing Thriller Scarecrows, to the Sumner Historic Society for the crazy and amazing decorations at the Ryan House, to Sauro's Photography for taking all the FREE photographs, to all the merchants who dressed up and gave out candy to all the kids, and especially to all the families who Spent Some Time In Sumner on Halloween. SDA would also like to thank the Sumenr Lions Club for providing crossing guards during the evening. Also, thanks to Lauren with Patch for covering the event.

Would be great if Bonney Lake could have something similar and since they don't have a Main street like Sumner, they could host a Trunk a Treat in a large parking lot. We live at the end of a long private road and never get any goblins but we would love to buy candies to treat these adorable little munchkins. We could decorate the trunks or truck beds to make them look scary. Oh what fun it would be for all. I loved the pictures of the little ones and not so little ones.

A decorated Trunk or Treat in Bonney Lake would be really cool! Great idea Lise!

Lise, there are two events that happen in Bonney Lake. One is the annual Trick or Treat that the businesses do in Bonney Lake. If they have a poster in the window they have candy. Our family loves doing this every year.
There is also a huge Halloween event that happens at Bonney Lake High School every year. Both are great for the kiddies and I am sure they would love candy if you wanted to offer.

NOOOOO! A community Center with pool in conjunction with the school district first. The YMCA isRead More good enough but it is a corporation for itself, not for our community.
