The Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club expected a full house and a full house is what they got.

The Bonney Lake Annual Tree Lighting and Food Drive sponsored by the Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club was a hit yet again.

"We had a pack house tonight," said Terri Waltenburg, Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club president. "We had 1,200 cookies made by Kiwanis members and they are all gone."

Waltenburg said the Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club has been sponsoring the event for about 14 years. She said the reason they keep sponsoring the even is because they want to keep the community going and strong.

"We find this to be a great community event and we have a good time getting together," Waltenburg said.

The event included the Bonney Lake Elementary Viking Choir who sang a number of Christmas tunes, the lighting of the tree, and a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

Children were able to take photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the photos were printed in minutes. They were also given a goodie bag with a Beanie Baby and candy inside courtesy of the Kiwanis Club.
