AUDIO SLIDESHOW: Sumner's Memorial Day Service

Sumner's Veteran Memorial Day service took place at on May 30.

The event was hosted by Sumner VFW Victory Post 3070, , Sumner Historical Society and the City of Sumner.

Sumner's VFW Post 3070 has honored Memorial Day by not only having the service but by placing flags on veterans' graves in the Sumner City Cemetery. The Placing of flags took place on Thursday, May 26.

Sumner VFW Victory Post 3070 Commander James Greenwood led the service with other VFW Victory Post 3070 members accompanying him.

This tradition started in 1945 and has been carried on for 66 years, said Greenwood.

Below is the list of those who have lost their lives while serving our country and are laid to rest at the Sumner Cemetery.
