Sumner's "Music Off Main" Season Opener Draws Appreciative Crowd To Rainier View Park
The weekly summer concert series opened Friday evening with a special performance by the Puyallup Valley Community Band playing an assortment of Big Band and Broadway show tunes, classic marches and patriotic music.
The 2011 season of Sumner's popular "Music Off Main" performances got under way Friday with a special holiday-weekend band concert at Rainier View Park.
Featuring local talent, the free shows continue weekly at Heritage Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Sumner where Cherry and Kincaid meet Main Street.
Danny Vernon will headline the July 8 "Rock and Roll with Elvis" concert.Β On July 15, the "Funaddicts" will perform '50s-to-current hits, followed by July 22, Maia Santell & House Blend Jazz.

"The Diamond Experience," an evening with the music of Neil Diamond, will cap the series July 29.
The event is organized by the volunteer Sumner Arts Commission.
