Top 5 Fair Eats — and a Drink, Too

Check out a mix of traditional food favorites that are sure to satisfy your hunger.

It's hard deciding what to eat at the Puyallup Fair. From food on a stick to an eclectic mix of , you're sure to find a delicious sweet, salty or greasy meal while walking around and visiting your favorite rides and games.

Patch is helping narrow down your options. Here are five of my favorites located as you enter the Purple Gate. Let us know what your favorite treats are at the Puyallup Fair in the comment box below. You can even upload your own pictures.

  1. — This is my favorite food at the fair. Dip your deep-fried corn dog in classic mustard and you're good to go. There are eight Krusty Pup locations selling them for less than $4.50.
  2. Walk around the fair and you'll begin to notice why the roasted corn is one of my favorite all-time foods. The roasted corn has a delicious smell and taste, and they're easy to walk around with. Be sure to load it with Parmesan cheese or even Johnny's Seasoning Salt, or purchase a spiced roasted corn and take it up a notch. Roasted corn costs less than $5. I found a vendor selling it for $4.50.
  3. I absolutely love the scones at the fair. They are 10 ounces of warm, short bread filled with berry goodness. Buy them by the dozen or purchase a few to satisfy your scone craving. Cost ranges from $1.25 for one to $13 for a baker's dozen.
  4. You can not go wrong with an old-fashioned elephant ear. Sprinkle some cinnamon, butter and sugar or even rasberry on your sweet bread and let the indulgence begin. Cost is less than $7.
  5. — This made my list because of the simple fact that I love barbecue. They feature chicken, pork and beef in a variety of ways including corn on the cob, barbecue beans and more. Prices vary but I recommend the three-meat platter for about $15.

Beverage of choice: — After all that good eating, your mouth is going to need something to wash it all down. This is where the Slush Factory comes into effect. They have a variety of slush flavors including pink lemonade, pineapple and cherry. Mix and match or stick to your favorite. Cost ranges from $4-11 depending on the size. Refill your cup for a reduced price.
