Win Tickets to the Puyallup Fair and 'Get Your Happy On!'

Patch is giving away dozens of tickets to the Puyallup Fair. Just sign up for a free email newsletter for Bonney Lake-Sumner or Puyallup below for a chance to win.

We've heard the questions: What's been missing in my life these past few months? How can I put an exclamation point on my summer? And can that exclamation point include fried food on a stick?

Here at Patch, we have your answer. Better still, we'll give it to you for free.

Sign up for a Patch newsletter today and you will be entered to win one of dozens of free pairs of tickets to the Puyallup Fair, which runs Sept. 7-23. Even better, if you tell us why we should send your whole family, you'll get a chance to win the Patch Family Pack:

• four fair tickets (kids 5 and under are free, by the way)

• a Patch tote bag to hold those fair souvenirs

• assorted Patch goodies such as magnets, pens and balloons

• and a story and photo of you and your family on Bonney Lake-Sumner Patch or Puyallup Patch.

Here's how: Simply fill out the form for a chance to win a pair of tickets. If you want the family pack, write us a note in the comments section at the end of this story explaining in 200 words or less why Patch should send you and your family to the state's biggest fair.

We're launching next month -- you can enter this drawing to start receiving Puyallup news in addition to Bonney Lake-Sumner.

Each Thursday for the next three weeks, through Sept. 13, we'll hand out one pair of tickets and one family pack to lucky winners from the Bonney Lake-Sumner and Puyallup areas. Winners will be notified by email.

See you at the Puyallup!

Here's the fine print (click on the attached PDF for complete official rules):

  • Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  • To enter, sign up for the newsletter in the form above with your name, email and Patch town.
  • All entries must be received by Sept. 13, 2012, noon Pacific time.

We would love to win the family pack, it will be our two year old daughter's first Puyallup fair adventure. We think she will enjoy the scones as much as Mommy, Daddy and big brother do.

The Puyallup Fair is where we want to be!! Everything the fair has to offer always amazes us and provides fun for everyone from us parents, to our teens and our toddler! I can't think of a better outing for a family of such mixed ages. Everyone gets to actually have fun and we get to do it together.

My 6 year old absolutely loves the fair. She begs to go every time we drive past. We didn't go last year because my husband was working in Alaska, so she is even more excited to go this year. Her favorite is the rides and animals.

If I won I'd actually give this package to my best friend. She's a parent to 2 great kids, a 7th grader and a toddler with severe disabilities. She works super hard to give her older son the experiences and things they've always done, but it's harder with the cost and life changes a disabled child brings. He loves the animals and takes time to learn the most obscure facts about things! This would make certain they could continue their yearly tradition of "Doing the Puyallup" together!

I would love to win! I am going through a pretty nasty seperation at the moment and I would love to take the kids to do something fun to get there mind off mommy and daddy. I am now a single mom of 4 kids myself so the fair is certainly not in our budget this year.

We have never missed going to the Puyallup fair in over 13 years since my oldest son was born and we have the photo booth pictures to prove it! We love the rides, the food, the shows, and exhibits and it is a wonderful family tradition that my kids look forward to every year. I have been ill for over a year now and my husband and four kids (ages 13, 11, 9, and 4) have been taking such great care of me. I have Chiari Malformation (my brain is herniating into my spinal column), which causes excruciating daily headaches, fatigue, vision problems, and a multitude of other symptoms. As the mom, it hurts my heart that we have had to give up so much because of Chiari and that I can't do more for THEM. I would love to win the family pack to celebrate them and do something fun as a family that doesn't involve doctors and hospitals. Due to my rising medical bills, we cannot financially swing a fair trip this year, but really don’t want to miss going so that we can get our happy on together!

My parents will be celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary when they visit us next month. They spent their first anniversary at the fair (in Illinois where they live) and many others over the years. How cool would it be for them to carry on that tradition this year in Puyallup with the whole family? They would love it!

My husband was establishing our business over here, and my boys and I were trying to sell our house in Spokane. It took a year of seperation to finally get us back together, and now some family fun is much needed!

My family is amazing. This summer myself and 16 year old daughter worked everyday. My husband worked every evening and the younger boys did camp and sports. We have a lot of opportunities for fun adventures but rarely have family time together. It's hard to sacrifice one of the best things about family. We skipped family vacation this year yo save up for baby number four. We are blessed in all ways what better way to celebrate this than a trip to the Puyallup fair

I have a friend from Ukrain living here. She's never been to our big fair and it would be so much fun to introduce her to what we love about Puyallup and the northwest.

My husband has been busy working two jobs all summer. My daughter's 11th birthday is on the 14th and she asked for a "family day" and I think the fair would be an awesome place to spend the day. We would love to win the family pack!

Since my kids are back in school and all of our activities have started again, it seems like we are always missing each other! Someone is going to/from soccer, or scouts, or work, or school, or volunteering. Happy to be in our groove, but spending a day having fun all together as a family would be amazing!

My 2 year old has never Done the Puyallup. I can't wait to have her taste, see and enjoy all the fair has to offer. Animals, food and the rides. Its so much fun!
