Sumner Arts Festival

The home-grown Sumner Arts Festival is 38 years old and one of the largest and oldest true “hand-made” festivals in the southern Puget Sound region, with more than 15,000 coming to see what our 100+ artists have created. It’s a festival of not only artwork by talented local and regional artists, but also local and regional entertainment, a great selection of local foods and a fantastic children's area.

 The festival is held on Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th in downtown Sumner. It runs from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday and from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday.

 At the Sumner Arts Festival all artists must produce all of their own artwork. There are no mass-produced items allowed. This means the artwork at the festival is quality, handcrafted items that are unique in design.

 Our food artists are our very own local non-profit organizations. These groups provide everything from a great breakfast to lunches and dinners of BBQ beef sandwiches, baked potatoes, nachos, corn dogs, cheese quesadillas, heavenly tacos and taco salads, BBQ chicken, chili dogs, corn on the cob, onion burgers and much more. There are also fantastic desserts like pies, ice cream, root beer floats, scones and strawberry shortcake, and a host of other mouth-watering items.

 The festival is known for showcasing some of the finest LOCAL and regional talent year after year.  We have children’s music, youth performers, dancers, rock, blues, country and more; enough for two days of great free entertainment.

 The youth area continues to provide a safe place for all of our younger family members. We continue to have a large play toy, hands-on art and craft projects, “A Simple Wish” booth, a kid’s fire safety house and other booths to entertain and inspire our youth.

 Along with the events the Festival provides, the local downtown Sumner merchants have many great stores full of sales for everyone to shop.
