January Gallery 2013 Artist Mike Dilbeck Presents 'My Way'

The Bonney Lake photographer's exhibit runs at Enumclaw City Hall from Jan. 2 to Feb. 5.

Bonney Lake photographer Michael Dilbeck captures uniquely creative images that frequently defy the viewer to identify even very familiar sites or objects. Mike Dilbeck concentrates on the elements and principles of art to present expressive and often abstract imagery. It’s his way of looking at and sharing the beauty of natural objects. Mike Dilbeck’s artworks have been shown at City Hall Gallery in Enumclaw a number of times, and at galleries in Auburn, Puyallup, Yakima, and Port Townsend.

Michael Dilbeck, Artist Statement:

Welcome to the world I see through my camera. It is simplistic, complicated and everything in between all at the same time. It is also, many times, not recognizable, which are the type of images I enjoy presenting. Making people pause, look a little deeper and think about what they see. I hope to illustrate that there are many dramatic scenes in nature that tend to be overlooked because they are around us every day just waiting for us to stumble upon them. I’m constantly looking for those unique moments when nature presents itself in a truly magnificent way.

This collection of images provides a wide assortment of subjects, from traditional to impressionistic and abstract. They represent some of the things that have captured my attention, and reminded me of just how wonderful and special our natural world truly is.

Gallery 2013 is located in the Council Chambers at Enumclaw City Hall.  1339 Griffin Ave. Enumclaw, WA 98022.  Hours for the exhibition space are 9:30 a. m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enumclaw City Hall is closed on national holidays. The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesday of each week for municipal court proceedings.
