Sumner's Music Off Main Starts Up This Weekend
The beloved musical series kicks off a host of events as part of this summer's Sumner Rhubarb Pie Festival which spans June 28 through August 18.
Bring a picnic basket, some chairs and don't forget the shades this Friday as the city of Sumner kicks off the summer-long Rhubarb Pie Festival with the commencement of Music Off Main featuring the Puyallup Valley Community Band.
The forecast for Friday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 81 degrees.
Friday's concert takes place at Rainier View Park at 6:30 p.m. though all subsequent performances will be at Heritage Park. (see schedule)
The weekly music series, made possible by the Sumner Arts Commission, is just one of several events lined up as part of the Rhubarb Pie Festival this summer. Highlights also include the Tour de Pierce bicycle ride this Sunday, June 30, Rhubarb Days on July 13 and July 14, the Sumner Fine Arts Festival August 2 and August 3 and the Classy Chassis Car Show on August 18.
