Bonney Lake Shuts Down Wednesday Afternoon After Loss of Power
Walmart, the Justice Center and other major businesses in Bonney Lake had to shut down Wednesday afternoon due to widespread power outages across town. Power was restored about 2 p.m. according to Puget Sound Energy.
Bonney Lake went dark Wednesday afternoon after high winds and inclement weather caused a widespread power outage.
According to Puget Sound Energy, 1,200 Bonney Lake customers lost power today, starting at 12:40 p.m. A spokesman said the outage was due to a circuit that de-energized and fallen trees on a power line. Power was restored in town about 2 p.m.
Bonney Lake-Sumner Patchβs Facebook page started buzzing around 1 p.m. as locals reported power outages at homes along Veterans Drive and in the Prairie Ridge and Sky Island neighborhoods. Residents on 182nd Ave. E. and Angeline Road also reported outages.

Residents also reported that Walmart, Office Depot, Target, the Bonney Lake Dog House and the Bonney Lake Library went dark and shut down around 1 p.m.
Traffic issues in town lingered well after the power was restored.
