10. , Nov. 8: A BLHS student was waiting for her morning bus at the stop on Angeline Rd. when a stranger approached her and tried to kidnap her. The resulting parent outcry over lack of warning from the Sumner School District prompted an internal review of communication between parents and the district.

9. , Jun. 9: Formally Zato's, Midtown Grill has revitalized the space into a new dining destination for plateau residents, excited for a change.

8. , Aug. 5: 17 year-old Treavon Norton was killed in a horrible car wreck caused by his friend, who left the scene after driving into a power pole. The result sent shock-waves of mourning through the community for a teenager, lost too soon.

7. , Nov. 14: Derek Phifer, a 26 year-old man from Bonney Lake, was killed in a one-car accident on SR 164. His friend, a passenger, survived. Washington State Patrol believed Phifer was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
