The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Puyallup River near Orting for both Monday morning and afternoon.
About one inch of new rain is expected to fall in the Puyallup River Basin overnight, the NWS said in a 3:04 p.m. statement.
"This amount of rain on top of what has already fallen could cause the flow of the Puyallup River near Orting to reach 4,500 CFS Monday morning," the statement said.
A flow of this magnitude would result in minor flooding.
