Highway 162 to Close Sunday for Culvert Repairs
Two culvert repairs along Ball Creek will require closure of Highway 162 on Sunday, near 109th St. E. south of Sumner.
Highway 162 will be completely closed on Sunday, Aug. 26 2012 for culvert repairs, according to WSDOT.
During the closure, near 109th St. E. in Alderton just south of Sumner, crews will repair culverts that have collapsed and are impeding efficient flow of the creek under the highway.
The highway will totally close at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday morning. Motorists will be detoured to Old Military Road East (122nd Street East), Shaw Road and Pioneer Way. Highway 162 is expected to reopen by noon that same day.
