New Year's Day: What's Open, What's Closed in Bonney Lake and Sumner?

Here's a handy list of which public offices and services are closed or delayed in Bonney Lake and Sumner for New Year's Day.

Needing to return a library book or pay a parking ticket? It might have to wait till Wednesday.

Public and government offices in Bonney Lake and Sumner will be closed Tuesday in observance of New Year's Day. Other municipal services may be disrupted as well.

Many businesses will be closing early New Year's Eve—Monday, Dec. 31—and will remain closed Tuesday. Check with the businesses by phone to make sure.

If you are looking for a place to eat, be sure to call the restaurant or diner ahead of time.

Sumner Senior Center

  • Sumner's Senior Center is closed on New Years Day.

Sumner and Bonney Lake branches of the Pierce County Library

  • The library will close early on Monday, Dec. 31, at 6 p.m. and remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Sumner School District

  • The Sumner schools district office will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1.
  • School resumes Thurs., Jan. 3, 2013.

Postal Service

  • The Sumner and Bonney Lake Post Offices will be closed on Tuesday in observance of the holiday.
