Update: All State Route 512 Lanes Open

Officials reported at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday that a subject was on an overpass threatening to jump. As of about 2:30 p.m. he was down and safe.

All lanes of State Route 512 are open as of about 2:45 p.m. after officials were able to get a man on an overpass at Pacific Avenue down safely.

Pierce County Sheriff's Det. Ed Troyer reported on Twitter at about 1:35 p.m. that the man was threatening to jump.

WSDOT reported that all westbound lanes were closed at that point and the left lane in the eastbound direction was also closed; traffic had been diverted onto State Route 7 as negotiators worked with the subject.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill reported at 2:44 p.m. on Twitter that the man was down and safe.
