Explore Foothills Trail's beauty and recreation at Sumner Pierce County

Outdoor enthusiasts will explore the recreational opportunities and natural beauty of the Foothills Trail during a free event at Sumner Pierce County Library.

Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition members Loras Gassmann
and Bob Rowan will share beautiful video and photographs of what people will find when they walk, bike, run or ride horseback along trail. The 15-mile stretch of scenic land runs through Meeker, Orting, South Prairie and Buckley. The trail experts will also discuss plans to expand to Sumner, Mount Rainier, Tacoma and connections with other trails in the area.

The Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition assists Pierce County communities in the creation, maintenance and usage of a connected system of non-motorized trails for healthier people from Mt. Rainier to Puget Sound.
