Vote YES for the Bonney Lake Metropolitan Park District (MPD) on April 23, 2013 - Part 9

Ballots our in the mail - Vote YES for the Metropolitan Park District. Thanks

Happy very wet Saturday night, hope everyone is enjoying the greening of Washington!

My thanks to April Chan for the well written article on Patch at http://bonneylake-sumner.patch.com/articles/bonney-lake-metropolitan-par.... Unfortunately a very good article was turned into a rant that it should never have become.

Well, I hope that all of you that live in Bonney Lake received your ballots on Saturday. My wife and I did, voted immediately and have already dropped those Yes votes in the ballot box located at the Bonney Lake Park & Ride, which is right behind Wendy’s on SR410. If you don’t receive your ballot during the next week, please contact the Pierce County Auditor at http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/index.aspx?nid=3172 ,or you may call them at (253) 798-7430 between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

Even though this election seems like it’s been going on for years, it’s really only been a few months since we started the process to hopefully create a Metropolitan Park District. Both our vote YES side and the opposition have written lots of words. Some I’m sure that were very confusing and others that were outright distortions. Now it’s your turn. It’s time for each of you to sit down and hopefully make a decision. It’s my hope that, like me, you’ll vote YES for Parks and a brighter future for Bonney Lake. Vote YES for the Metropolitan Park District. Yes, it will eventually increase our taxes a little, but it will also provide for better operations and maintenance of existing properties and may also give us the opportunity to finally develop some of those things residents have been asking after for years: trails, community center/YMCA, or sports fields.
