Paint The Town Purple:

This Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 Relay For Life participants
from the Sumner-Bonney Lake area will be at intersections between the two cities raising money for the American Cancer Society.  Purple is the color of Relay so when we are
“painting the town purple” we are raising awareness, and funds, to celebrate more birthdays that won’t be taken away from cancer.

Throughout the day, teams will be at various intersections
up and down 410 in Bonney Lake and Main Street in Sumner collecting the “change” from your ashtrays and other donations you’d like to donate to the ACS Relay
For Life.  Instead of “filling the boot” like you would for the firemen raising money for the burn foundation you’re
“filling the bucket” for cancer survivors around the world.  Nobody wants to hear the words, “you have cancer” and we are raising money so less people have to.

Our Relay For Life Event:

Relay For Life Sumner-Bonney Lake will take place July 27th
– 28th, 2012 at Bonney Lake High School for the first time
ever.  Relayers will fill the track all evening, night and morning because cancer never sleeps so neither will
they.  This is a family friendly event focused on the whole community coming together to find a cure for cancer.

CPS-3:

This year, the Sumner-Bonney Lake Relay will be hosting
Cancer Prevention Study 3, CPS-3, where you can be a part of the study that might just find the end of this disease.
If you are between the ages of 30-65 and have never been diagnosed with cancer and would like to be a part of this study, there will be a tent set up Friday July 27th between 5pm and 9pm, where you can sign up.  This Relay is the only event in Western Washington hosting CPS-3 and if you’d like to be a part of it we will see you on the track.
