More on SDA's Member of the Month, Spartan Agency

Spartan Agency, a family run business, continues to give back.

I received this great piece of information regarding the SDA October Member of the Month.  While it missed being added to the information presented to Patch for publishing, I wanted to add it.  Their story of community service is not just something they enjoy but it is shared with their daughter as well.

The Spartan Agency LLC is a family owned second generation real estate business located in downtown Sumner for over 50 years.  Specializing in property management and servicing the Sumner, Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Buckley, Orting, Edgewood and Fife communities.  Meeting the needs of their clients is their number one goal.

Owners Glenn and Carol Whaley are proud Sumner High School alumni and enjoy volunteering and supporting activities in the Sumner community.  They have enjoyed their membership and volunteering with the Daffodil Festival since 1994.  Glenn served as President of the Festival in 2003 and Carol as First Lady.  Carol is a past president of the Sumner Promotions Association and served on the board for many years.  She organized the fund raising projects for the Sumner community float for many years as well as the Daffodil Bulb Sale.   Glenn developed and managed the Sumner Downtown Association web site and has volunteered at many SDA events. Their “crew” has served hamburgers at the Sumner Arts Festival, SDA hamburger booth for many years. They are long time sponsors of Sumner/ Bonney Lake Recreation Department youth basketball and baseball teams.

"We feel supporting the community they serve is important and we try to give back to the community by volunteering our time or giving financial support when needed."

Jen Noland, daughter and third generation, joined Spartan Agency in 2008 and is a vital part of the business daily operation.  Jen volunteers as secretary for the Pierce County Chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers and is active in planning the regional conference to be held in Tacoma in 2013.
