Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales' Wife: "I Truly Believe That My Husband Did Not Do This."

Kari Bales, the wife of the Joint Base Lewis-McChord man accused of killing 16 Afghanistans in March, told "CBS This Morning" that she spoke with her husband two days before the shooting and said nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Kari Bales said of the Lake Tapps man: "I know my husband, and it's not a question I really need to ask. I know him. I know what he's capable of and not capable of, so I don't need to ask the question."

Robert Bales gained national notoriety for allegedly going on a . His lawyer has said that Bales, who had been deployed before, was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Army formally filed a , including 16 specifications of premeditated murder, six specifications of premeditated murder, seven specifications of assault, two specifications of possessing and using steroids and one specification of wrongfully consuming alcohol while deployed.

He is awaiting a military trial and is currently in pretrial confinement at the Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
