I had just received my third straight increase with my current insurance company and decided to call around. I went on line and remembered this agent's name from a co-worker that had recently acquired insurance from State Farm. Not realizing it was a Saturday, I decided to call - he was in the office. Not only was he in but he was in the middle of taking care of other clients when I called. He explained the situation and asked if he could call me back when he was done. Around 3pm that day, he called and I discussed my situation. I wanted to do everything over the phone but he explained why it would be better to meet in person to review my documents and such. I let him know that I work long hours during the week and the weekends are my only days to get caught up on stuff. He let me know that he was available evenings and then out of the blue asked me what I was doing tomorrow (Sunday)! I asked him if he was open on Sundays and he said that for me he would open the office and make sure the coffee was ready and we would have the place all to ourselves. I went down to his office at 1pm and sure enough the not only was the coffee ready but he had an espresso machine all fired up for me! The office is a charming two story house. I learned that he is a Marine Corps veteran and a family man with kids in high school and college so he understood a lot of my family's challenges. Long story short, I moved all of my cars and home insurance over to him and the following weekend I came back with my husband to get our life insurance and Roth IRAs started - something we always wanted to do but nobody ever took the time to explain how easy and inexpensive they are to get started. Bottom line - if you are not satisfied with your current company and value having a real person treat you like a real person - then make an appointment to meet with McGregor - ask him why they all wear labcoats in the office and tell him Rebecca sent you :)
