Not Your Typical Semi-Pro Team

The South King County Colts are not your typical Semi-Pro football team. In it’s 5th year the Colts football program has landed former local collegiate athletes, such as Washington State; Michael Bush, University of Washington; Darrion Jones, Central Washington; Brandon Stout, & Western Washington; Craig Garner, just to name a few. “ This program has come a long way”, Owner Tim Reynolds stated in phone interview. 

“5 years ago we were searching for football players on craigslist, now our roster is filled with former high school & College athletes”. Keith Jones in his 1st year as Head Coach/Scout with the Colts was offered the position 2 seasons ago, with Jones declining. “Coach Jones is one the best recruiters around at the level of football, and I wanted him”, Reynolds said. Players travel to Auburn for practices from Bellingham, Seattle, Lacey & Bremerton to play for the Colts in 2013. With Reynolds business savvy and Coach Jones Recruiting, they have put a team together of 60 players, 7 coaches, 5 front office staff and 20 plus volunteers throughout the community. We can’t leave out the Colts cheer team the “ Filly Girls” led by Claire Nelson.

 As one of the largest and most popular semi pro team in the area, the Colts has a strict code of conduct policy for players, coaches and staff. This is one of the reasons they are able to attract Fans at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner. Coach Jones says, “ I have high expectations for my team and want to win a Semi-Pro National Championship”
