UPDATE: What Cheeseheads Are Saying About Seahawks' Win

Many Packers fans spent Tuesday morning voicing their outrage over the outcome of Monday night's Packers-Seahawks game. A few hours ago, Patch shared some choice Washington comments with Wisconsin Patch sites. The dustup continues below.

Wisconsinites are not, uh, taking last night's loss very well.

The state revolves around the team anyway, so the final play of last night's Green Bay-Seattle Monday Night Football game is about the only thing being discussed today — at the office water cooler, at the coffee shop, and just about any place else people can vent.

That would be the play in which Russell Wilson (who we love) threw the sport's first-ever game-winning interception, otherwise known as the "Inaccurate Reception" and the "Fail Mary," thanks to replacement refs and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

In the spirit of good fun, Patch posted some Packer fans' comments here (see below) and Seahawk fans' comments on Wisconsin Patch sites. Check out their responses to your comments.

Here's a sampling of comments from Wisconsin Patch sites:

Steve:

As a Packers owner I call on the officials union to give it up. You work 20 days per week, at $1000/hr or more. You do not own the NFL, and are compensated for your labor.

Charles Millet:

I am embarrassed for the refs. How can you even look at that play in replay and not call that an offensive pass interference before anything else. # 37 gets launched out of the way and regardless of this, the packers DB still gets up higher that Seattle's receiver (or anyone else for that matter) and puts 2 hands on the ball. Seattle's man only has one hand on it .... at best. And if they're not sure at least review the play but don't be that second ref who just validates the first refs stupid call.

Michael McClusky:

I have seen other games before this that concerns controversial end zone plays. Usually when two refs signal opposite calls, then they usually consult with one another before making the final call. This did not happen here! Haven't these two refs ever seen a football game before? My God!

Hudson, Wis. Patch LE Michael Foley:

In my entire life, I've never been as angry as I am right now.

dan z:

Watch rugby. It's a better game.

Jim Tyyska:

Yes, the officiating was horrible - for the entire game - but if the Packers would have played better in the first half, they would not have been in that position at the end of the game. Just my 2 cents.

William:

The Pack will bounce back from this, but the REAL REF's need to make a deal I can't even stand to watch football with all these bad calls.

Dean Mundy:

The replacement refs are obviously inferior, especially at critical points of the game. It is also obviously playing into the ref union's hands, showing how important they are.

GreenBayPackersWhiner: Actually everyone outside the Northwest doesn't hate the seahawks...there are some right here in Seattle that do as well...and there are people like you with such low integrity for such a great sport that it pains me to even think you would consider Monday night a valid win. The entire second half of that game should never have been played. There were so many flags thrown that were unjustified on both teams....you are more worried about bad mouthing Packers fans then you are in pointing out how strong your defensive line was in holding us to only 12 points or the 8 sacks in the first half. Yes, I agree that the Seahawks got screwed in SuperBowl 40....and a lot of the world made noise about it not just Seattle... both teams played as hard as they could given the situation, but in the end the replacement refs won the game. Its hard for two teams to play when they are ultimately playing against a 3rd opponent. Say what you will about Packers fans but take a look in the mirror before you start bad mouthing us on having no integrity for the sport... A win is not a win unless its earned.

My god what whiners! What about the atrocius play by the Packers line in the first half? What about the pass interference call against a Seahawk who never touched the Packers receiver. This blown call gave the Packers a first down that led to a touchdown? It's football! Knock the sand out of your v--------'s, toughen up, and play your guts out next week. My old coach said "there is no whining in football." Well maybe not but there sure is a lot in the stands

Boys are taught to play the game well and not be a sore looser. I think the fans should grow up and be a better influence for the children in their community.

The next time there's a strike, I say the fans join in and just stay home until the dispute is over.
