Shooting Near Buckley May Be Accidental

"We do not believe we have a shooter out there," sheriff's spokesman says.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting of a man Tuesday southwest of Buckley.

“The preliminary information is that it may have been an accident,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer told the Tacoma News Tribune. “We do not believe we have a shooter out there. This is all contained amongst the people we are talking to and the victim.”

The man was transported to a Tacoma hospital for surgery.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters were called to a residence on the 22000 block of 131st Street East at 12:22 p.m.
