Accident Just Cleared off 214th Ave. E. S-Curves

An early-afternoon accident happened on 214th between the intersection at Sumner-Buckley Highway and the Home Depot.

Police and East Pierce Fire responded to an accident on the 214th Ave. E s-curves around 12:30pm today, Nov. 15.

Patch readers called in to say that police blocked off 214th Ave. E from Sumner Buckley-Highway to near Home Depot. The reader lives on that s-curve, and had to park their car at Home Depot and walk down the hill to their house.

The reader also pointed out that this isn't the first time a car accident has blocked off the 214th s-curve. Patch will check in with WSDOT to see what kinds of problems they find with this road. But, as all of us who drive it regularly know, it can be very dangerous, especially in the rain.

I grew up on a farm on 214th (just south of 410 on what is now the gated community across from Safeway) and there have been accidents there for as long as I can remember. Especially when it gets icy out and people take it too fast!
