Bonney Lake Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing Gun at Wife

A Bonney Lake man shot as his wife's car as she attempted to leave a domestic violence situation at their home on South Island Drive Tuesday. He was arrested Wednesday morning in Federal Way.

UPDATED: 1:24 p.m.

Police took the suspect in custody around 11:45 a.m. after receiving an anonymous tip, according to a press release from the Bonney Lake Police Department.

The 27 year-old suspect was arrested without incident after police found him at the East Wind Motel in Federal Way. He was booked in Pierce County Jail on multiple counts of felony domestic violence, an unrelated felony warrant and was charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.

A search warrant was served on his residence on the 5300 block of South Island Drive around 8 a.m. this morning, where investigators say they found key pieces of evidence. Police are currently working on a search warrant for his hotel room and this case is still under investigation.

A single shot fired around 7 p.m. last night brought Bonney Lake Police and the Metro SWAT team to the 5300 block of South Island Drive, according to a press release from the Bonney Lake Police Department.

A man got into a dispute with his wife, who attempted to drive away from the residence. When she got in her car, he shot one bullet at the vehicle. The woman is uninjured.

Police could not locate the man at his home or on the phone, and he is currently at large and considered armed and dangerous. Detectives have not yet released the name of the suspect and this case is still under investigation. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
