Dennis "Hoover" Jordan has been charged with allegedly firing a gun at his wife's car when she attempted to leave his home on South Island Drive on March 6.

Dennis “Hoover” Jordan has been charged with assault and possession of an illegal firearm as she attempted to leave his residence on the 5000 block of South Island Drive on March 6. Bonney Lake Police and Metro SWAT surrounded the home but he escaped, only to be found the next day in a Federal Way motel. There were no injuries in the shooting.

Charges of assault and illegal possession of a firearm have been filed against Jordan with Pierce County Superior Court.

According to the Bonney Lake police report, Jordan’s wife of only a month was attempting to move out of his home, with her nephew’s help, when Jordan returned unexpectedly and shot a bullet at her Cadillac as she attempted to leave.

The wife told officers she had an “off and on” relationship with Jordan, and that her marriage to him was a “farce.” They had only been married a year and it was only so she could visit him while he was incarcerated. She was living with him because she had temporarily moved out of her mother’s home while it was being remodeled. Due to recent arguments with Jordan, she decided to move back earlier than she expected and hadn’t told Jordan of her intentions.

Friends of the woman told police they were helping her move when Jordan returned to the residence and discovered the group. He didn’t know his wife’s nephew and accused of her cheating on him, then wielded a handgun. When the woman and her nephew got in her car, he grabbed hold of the partially open driver’s side door and attempted to break it. She began to back up and Jordan fired his gun at the front of her car.

A bullet hole was found in the grill of the Cadillac and there was subsequent damage to the radiator and engine compartment.

Police obtained a warrant and searched Jordan’s residence with the assistance of the Pierce County Metro SWAT team. He was not found at the residence and later arrested in Federal Way. He will face four counts of assault in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree. Restraining orders have also been filed against him.
