Bonney Lake Police: $5,000 Microscope Stolen in Vehicle Prowl, Officers Dispatch Injured Deer and Concerned Mom Reports Son is Stealing

The following information from May 29 through June 3 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

May 29, 2013

Shoplifting: A woman was cited for third-degree theft and released after police responded to Walmart at 2:07 p.m. on a report she had been caught attempting to shoplifting about $68 of merchandise.

Theft from Vehicle: A citizen reported at 10:27 a.m. that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle in the Fred Meyer parking lot at about 3 p.m. on May 29. The vehicle was unlocked but he had only stepped away from his vehicle for about five minutes.

Shoplifting: An officer cited two juvenile females for theft and one with an additional charge of minor in possession after Walmart employees reported at 11:29 p.m. they had stolen multiple items including alcohol.

June 1, 2013

Residential Burglary: Police received a report at 8:30 a.m. that a home on the 19400 block of West Tapps Hwy was broken into sometime between May 23 and June 1. The owner reported the home was secure but neither he nor police could find a point of entry or any damage to the home when suspect(s) entered. Items missing include a mini fridge, weed eater, saw and assorted sports apparel.

Vandalism and Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to the 9900 block of 233rd Avenue East at 7:49 p.m. for a report that a vehicle parked there had been vandalized and burglarized. The victim said she parked the car there at about 4 p.m. and when she returned at 6:30 p.m., she noted all four of her tires had been cut and two were already flat; the other two were losing air. She also noted her unlocked vehicle had been entered and a pay phone, CD case and spare change was missing.

June 2, 2013

Vandalism: Police responded to the 20800 block of 91st Street East at 2:26 a.m. for a report a vehicle was broken into. Officers verified the victim's passenger side window was smashed out; she reported nothing appeared to have been taken. The victim said she saw the suspect flee but couldn't get a good description as it was too dark.

Injured Deer: Officers dispatched a deer that had both its hind legs broken when it was reported at 9:53 a.m. It was laying in the westbound lanes on the 17700 block of State Route 410.

June 3, 2013

Lying about Identity: An officer on routine patrol near the Goodwill noted a woman at about 1:45 a.m. seen rummaging through a trailer set aside for donations. She reportedly attempted to hide from police initially before telling them she didn't hear them because she had headphones on. She gave officers two false identities before admitting her real name which revealed several outstanding warrants. She was arrested for making false statements to police and for the warrants.

Theft from Vehicle: A woman reported that her vehicle had been broken into overnight on the 7700 block of 183rd Avenue East and a GPS and microscope were stolen. The theft happened sometime after 9 p.m. the previous night and 3 a.m. that morning. The victim's left rear passenger side window was smashed out. Both items were valued collectively at more than $5,000.

Concerned Mom: A woman reported to police that her son is in possession of a number of items that she believes he has stolen, including toy guns and a bicycle that her other children identified as belonging to a neighbor. The neighbor confirmed the ownership of the bicycle. The mother has entered her son into the youth at risk program and told police she wanted it documented that he was stealing as he had a court hearing coming up. Β
