UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed by Driver Identified

47-year-old Bonney Lake resident Gary Slick has been identified as the man killed by a car as he walked down SR 410 on Aug. 11, 2012.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner has identified the crash victim -- 47-year-old Gary Slick, a Bonney Lake resident.

Bonney Lake Police have arrested a driver who allegedly struck a pedestrian on suspicion of DUI, according to its Twitter feed

The incident, which occurred within the last hour, involved a car versus a pedestrian collision. Witnesses say the man was walking north on the 10100 block of 214th Avenue East near at 5:30 p.m. Saturday when he was struck from behind by a vehicle travelling the same direction. Bystanders performed CPR until crews arrived.

The victim, a 47-year-old man, had CPR performed by witnesses at the scene and was transported to the hospital.Β 

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault, according to Bonney Lake Police.
