Police reports for June 23 to Aug. 29 include shoplifting at Fred Meyer.

Thursday, June 23

4:01 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Fred Meyer for a shoplifter in custody. A Fred Meyer employee had observed the shoplifter enter the store and walk to the home department. The employee then stated the shoplifter selected a microwave, removed the security tag and place the microwave into a cart.

The shoplifter then went to the pharmacy and proceeded to exit the store without paying or offering to pay for the microwave. The employee then went outside and escorted the shoplifter back into the store. The shoplifter denied ever intentionally stealing the microwave stating that he forgot to pay, which was valued at $99.

4:29 p.m.: The shoplifter was arrested, cited and released for theft.

Thursday, August 18

9:59 a.m.: A resident contacted the Bonney Lake Police Department to report fraudulent activity on his Home Depot credit card.

The resident said they noticed at the end of June they were missing some bills from their mailbox which included Home Depot, Visa, Verizon and Comcast.

On July 20, the Home Depot fraud department contacted the resident regarding a $1,200.95 purchase made on July 18 along with an additional attempt on the same day for $6,627.47 that was denied. The resident was informed that both purchases were at the Bonney Lake Home Depot store.

The resident confirmed that they did not make the purchases nor was his Home Depot credit card stolen but was waiting to verify if Home Depot sent out a new cards in June or July or if someone took his account number off of a bill.

The Bonney Lake Police Department requested Home Depot to research their video surveillance of that transaction and contact the police department if they are able to retrieve video of the suspect.

Saturday, August 27

10:43 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to vehicle prow that had happen overnight on 184th Avenue East. The resident said they had parked their vehicle on the street in front of their residence the night before at approximately midnight. The resident had left his car unlocked and when he returned to the vehicle at 8 a.m. their had been items stolen.Β 

The resident stated that the following items had been stolen a GPS Roadmate, a digital camera, a large duffel bag full of softball equipment but after an area check the resident recovered the large duffel bag in a back alley near their residence.

The total value stolen was $300.

The resident does not know who entered their vehicle and stole their items.Β 

Monday, August 29

5:15 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a burglary report at Mini Storage, 19413 SR410 E. The officer contacted the business owner who stated that a unit was broken into some time between August 26 and August 29. The owner had contacted the renter and was waiting for them to show up.

The unit was partially open and had severe damage to the door. The door was dented and appeared to have been force open with a pry bar, according to a police report. The door was still locked and there was a hole in the lock indicating it was drilled.

The renter stated it has been one year since he had visited the unit and had been unable to determine if anything was missing.

The owner estimated the damage to the door and lock to be approximately $400.

12:00 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to 193rd Ave East and 68th St. E for a suspicious vehicle. The officer was informed a person was passed out in the front seat of a blue vehicle. The officer made contact with the person who was sleeping in the driver’s seat. The person gave the office identification and a record check showed that the person had an active warrant out of Auburn Police Department. The person was arrested and transported to Auburn Police Department.

11:41 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Safeway located at 21301 SR 410 E for a theft report. Two residents who made the call stated that their BMX bike and skateboard had been stolen. The two residents arrived at the store at 11 p.m. and had left the items just outside of the west entrance. They told the officer that they had been inside the store for approximately five minutes and when they exited the store they discovered their property missing.

The BMX bike was valued at $520 and the skateboard was valued at $45.

No evidence was collected at the scene and there was no suspect information available at the time.
