MARIJUANA POSSESSION AT MOUNTAIN VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL

A counselor at Mountain View Middle School called police to report that a group of students told her they witnessed another student purchase a small amount of marijuana and bring it to school. The 13 year-old girl was brought in for questioning and she named the student who sold it to her, but said she gave it back to him.

Police questioned the boy, who said that she gave him $20 for the marijuana. He kept $10 for himself and purchased $10 worth of marijuana from another student and gave it to her.

The boy was upset the girl brought the marijuana to school and he took it back from her and hid it in the bushes nearby. He later retrieved a pill container with marijuana inside from the bushes and presented it to police.

The third student was interviewed, who said that he smokes marijuana regularly and gets it from a local person. He said he sold the other boy the drugs, but not on school property.

The male student who sold the marijuana to the girl was charged with possession with intent to distribute. The parents of the third student were contacted, but they disputed any suspension because the transaction did not happen on school property.
