Bonney Lake Police Blotter: Heroin, rare Japanese banjo stolen, Craiglist stolen generator

The following arrest information from June 6, 2012 to June 13, 2012 has been supplied by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

JUNE 6, 2012

DRUG ARREST

Police were called to the 21100 block of State Route 410 when a man was found unconscious in a restaurant bathroom. Police observed a metal spoon, a tin cigarette box and plastic baggy. Police also observed a syringe with a brown liquid substance consistent with black tar heroin. The items were collected for evidence.

RARE BANJO STOLEN

Officers responded to a burglary in the 17800 block of Bonney Lake Blvd. The doorknob lock was pried open and slight damage was caused to the door jamb. A rare banjo made in Japan was stolen, along with a guitar, together valued at $900. A 42-inch flatscreen TV valued at $400 also was missing. Three hard drives valued at $400 also were stolen.

JUNE 9, 2012

6 WARRANTS

A man riding a bicycle through a parking lot in the 20900 block of State Route 410 was arrested on six outstanding warrants. A multi-colored, glass smoking device was found during a search. The device, commonly used to smoke marijuana, was seized as evidence.

TRAFFICKING STOLEN PROPERTY

A man told police in a parking lot in the 20900 block of Highway 410 that his neighbor had a generator stolen from his residence. The man saw a Craigslist ad describing a stolen generator. The man set up a meeting, and as soon as he saw the generator he knew it was the one stolen from his neighbor.

The man bought the generator for $800 and was given a bill of sale with a fake name. The man went to the parking lot, saw the couple who sold him the generator in the same lot, then went to police.

The suspects tried to avoid police in the store, but eventually were detained. The male suspect denied involvement, saying he had $300 cash in his pocket from mowing lawns. The female suspect also was found with $300 cash. She said she was going to use the money to go to Eastern Washington for rehabilitation for a heroin addiction.

The male suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of one count of trafficking stolen property in the first degree.

JUNE 12, 2012

GUN, KNIFE STOLEN

Police responded to the theft of a gun from a vehicle in a parking lot in the 21300 block of Highway 410. When the victim returned from 15 minutes of shopping he located the driver's door ajar and his black bag missing. The bag contained a Kershaw hunting knife with interchangeable blades valued at $65 and a Ruger Blackhawk that is black with a brown handgrip valued at $450.

KIDS STEAL BOOZE

Officers responded to a store in the 19200 block of Highway 410 for a reported theft. Four juveniles were caught stealing alcohol. The suspects said they chose that store because it does not have sensors on the tops of the bottles. One juvenile was charged for stealing Malibu Rum at $18.46; another for stealing Fireball Whiskey for $23.88. They were also banned for life from the store. The other two were not charged. The juveniles were released to their parents.

JUNE 13, 2012

STEALING DINNER

A man left a restaurant in the 20800 block of Highway 410 without paying for his meals. The man reportedly was under the influence of alcohol and ordered a steak, shrimp and mash potato meal. About five minutes later he requested another steak, shrimp and mash potato dinner to go for his wife who was in the car. He ate one while the other was being prepared. When the second one came, he took off with it on foot without paying the $37.17. An employee had taken a picture of the man on a cell phone. Police recognized him and will follow up.
