Police found the unoccupied pickup truck in the restaurant parking lot. It had extensive damage and the wheel and tire were completely sheared off. The light pole only had some paint on it and appeared undamaged. The officers noticed crushed beer cans on the floorboards of the car and a pack of beer outside the truck on the passenger side and found empty beer cans and a beer box in the bushes nearby.

Officers found the two men behind Safeway. The 40 year-old owner of the truck and his 50 year-old passenger were obviously drunk.

WARRANT ARREST, DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Police observed a vehicle driving southbound on 214th Ave. E. from 96th St. E. when it went into the center lane and turned left onto SR 410 without signaling.

The male driver was wearing a thick blonde wig and was very nervous, looking around and wanting to smoke a cigarette. He had a warrant out of Renton for theft and had a suspended drivers license. His tabs were also expired.

He told the officers he was wearing the wig for fun. He had a flashlight and screwdriver in his pocket and there were several tools inside the vehicle. Police also noticed a pack of clear plastic baggies used to store narcotics.

The man told police he was meeting two “major bad guys” at Prairie

Ridge to buy some dope. He said he worked for a detective but was unable to provide police with a name or phone number.

He was cited with driving for his driving infractions and transported to Renton Police for his warrant.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Police pulled over a vehicle on 96th St. E. that was registered to a driver familiar to police who had a suspended license.

The officer pulled the vehicle over after the driver unsuccessfully tried to elude police by pulling into a driveway with a gate they could not open. When the car stopped, police noticed a lot of movement in the car and it appeared to be rocking back and forth. The windows were tinted so police couldn’t see inside but noted there were several people in the car.

When police approached the vehicle, there was no one in the drivers seat. The registered owner was sitting in the passenger seat and three people were in the back. It was obvious to police that the car owner was driving and tried to slide over to the passenger seat and exit through that door.

The man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and he got very upset and denied driving. He said that the other male in the car had been driving and he jumped in the backseat when they pulled the vehicle over.

Police questioned the passengers, who all confirmed the man was driving and when police pulled the car over, he jumped into the passenger seat and attempted to have the man in the backseat to get in the front. He didn’t want to because he was the only one in the car with a valid drivers license.

SUPICIOUS PERSON

Police were dispatched to a residence on 194th Ave. E. for a possible burglary in progress. Dispatch advised that a male subject was trying to force his way into an apartment and was seen leaving the home, placing items in his vehicle and then returning to the apartment. The woman who owned the apartment had just been taken into police custody and the man was an acquaintance.

Police went to the apartment and found the man there, who let police inside. They noticed that the front door had damage and it appeared to have been broken in.

The man said he was a friend of the woman’s and that he left the apartment for about 15 minutes after her arrest and returned with the bail money. He denied forcing in the door and said it was partially open when he came back.

Police contacted the bail company. They confirmed the woman was in custody, and she locked up her apartment before she left and didn’t want anyone inside.

When the woman was informed of the incident, she called police and confirmed that the man was her friend and she wanted him to bail her out. The man was released without incident.
